Project Description: The 80,000 square foot Renaissance Revival-style building was constructed in 1916 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. Once home to the Little Sisters of the Poor Home for the Aged, the building was converted into office space in 1998 for BMG Music Publishing (acquired by Sony in 2008). Located across the street from the Vanderbilt campus, the building is used for academic and administrative functions by the university.
Project Challenge/Solution: Universal Window and Door custom-manufactured the replacement windows to maintain the original architecture. The installed windows have an arched exterior while the interior displays a rectangular design. 15% savings in energy cost. Sony – Challenge The openings had a half-circle at the top of the window but the interior of the window was rectangular. Universal was able to marry the panning and the window to enable the window to into the opening correctly. 27 400 DH
